Meet Mr. Chance Caton, LMSW
Chance Caton, LMSW entered community service in 2015 shortly after honorably discharging from the United States Army. His first experience working with underserved and overlooked populations was as a care coordinator at the largest homeless shelter in AZ known as CASS. This incredible experience and the diverse population he served inspired him to pursue an education in mental health. The amazing individuals he worked with and the impact he witnessed on their lives led to an incredible passion for working with marginalized populations such as veterans, at-risk youth, homeless, and those with serious mental illness (SMI).
Chance earned a Master’s degree in Social Work in 2022 from Arizona State University. During his Master’s program he was granted admission into the Phi Alpha Honor Society for Social Workers. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Psychology from Arizona State University. His clinical experience in the mental health field includes alternative schools, the department of corrections inpatient psychiatric facility, and community psychiatric inpatient facilities.
He has extensive experience in cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, solution focused brief therapy (SFBT), mindfulness, guided imagery, mindful mediation, motivational interviewing (MI), and crisis intervention. He has experience in treating individuals with unhealthy levels of self-esteem, anxiety, depression, paranoia, borderline personality disorder, schizophrenia, panic disorders, and PTSD. He also has experience in treating individuals with unhealthy rigid core beliefs to create healthier relationships that lead to an overall increase in life satisfaction.
Chance believes that no individual should ever have to feel alone in their mental health journey and the complications that arise throughout this journey. Every individual can make the choice to change, grow, and be the outstanding individual they want to be. Every individual has the right to live healthy, happy, fulfilling lives. Your therapist is the light on the unlit path to success in your mental health. It’s your choice to seek out the light. You are not alone.
